Founded in Tokyo in 1994, OTA Fine Arts has established itself as a leading gallery championing Japanese and Asian contemporary art, with spaces in Tokyo, Singapore, and Shanghai. Over the past three decades, the gallery has developed a strong international presence, representing artists such as Yayoi Kusama alongside a diverse roster, and presenting exhibitions across multiple cities in Asia.

For the gallery’s new Artlogic website, I worked closely with their team to migrate a significant multilingual archive spanning almost thirty years. The project involved transferring and reconciling thousands of records, including artists, exhibitions, news, and viewing rooms dating back to 1994, across three languages: English, Japanese, and Chinese. This required a careful approach to structure and accuracy to ensure that content aligned seamlessly with the gallery’s three locations and their distinct programmes. I collaborated with the in-house team to standardise data, match high-quality images with their correct metadata, and develop a clear navigation system that could support multiple languages without compromising on usability.

The result is a fluid and intuitive website where decades of exhibitions and projects can be explored effortlessly, whether discovering Kusama in Tokyo, a new presentation in Shanghai, or a recent exhibition in Singapore. A platform that reflects OTA Fine Arts’ international reach while preserving the richness and detail of its history.
