“Joe Madeira not only managed the transfer of my archive into a new website with care and precision, he also aided me with modifications that made it simpler to navigate. He continues to provide invaluable technical support and advice keeping my systems up-to-date. He is thorough, reliable, and always finds solutions best suited to my work.”
Sir Michael Craig-Martin is one of the most influential conceptual artists of his generation. Born in Dublin in 1941, he studied at Yale and moved to Britain in 1966, where he developed a distinctive visual language—rendering everyday objects in bold outlines, saturated color, and rigorous conceptual framing. Over decades he has exhibited internationally and played a key role as teacher and mentor, influencing movements such as the Young British Artists.
When engaging on Michael Craig-Martin’s digital presence, the task went beyond a simple migration. I handled the transfer of the full archive—exhibitions (from 1997 onward), artists, news, and publications—and also supported the artist’s infrastructure: updating computer setups, configuring cloud storage, and enabling workflow flexibility so he could work across locations.
In close collaboration with his galleries, Gagosian and Cristea Roberts, I made sure that artwork details, photography metadata, and high-quality image standards aligned with both curatorial and design expectations. I liaised directly with Michael and the Artlogic team to create a unique, visually coherent, and technically robust website that honours his work and legacy.
